A Few Things About Me

  • Real name
    LaShay VZ
  • Short bio
I don't have kids of my own, but oh boy, do I have animals. The loves of my life. 3 dogs. 3 cats.
  • Location
    Texas, US
  • Hobbies
I love music. I also love to crochet and read. I'm a new knitter, as well.
  • Occupation
I am an Activities Co-ordinator at a home for abused children.
  • Favorite projects
I love to make bags to give away. I also love making things for my animals.
  • Crocheting since...
I learned to crochet when I was about 7 years old. Another girl about my age taught me.
  1. I think it's adorable. I love the idea of it. lashayvz
  2. This is adorable! So creative. lashayvz
  3. I don't have children, so maybe this is why I'm lacking here. Would you tell me what foot bags are, please. I've never heard of them before. lashayvz
  4. I wish I knew her!! She sounds like a scream. Sorry. That's the only idea I've got. If I come up with anything else, I'll let you know. lashayvz
  5. Hi. I'm new here, too. Seems like a great place, though. I'm also from Texas-Levelland, near Lubbock. Welcome. lashayvz
  6. Hi. There are so many patterns out there for crochet hook cases. I wonder if you could modify one of those patterns to fit some of her smaller jewlery making tools. Maybe some simple flowers appliques on the front flap (I like to crochet flowers-they are so quick) to finish it off? I know that jewelry designers often have a variety of small pliers and "pincher" and things.
  7. The WalMarts in my area of Texas seem to be slimming down their yarn supplies, too. It is so frustrating. I live in a small town, so Wal-Mart is it. If I want a bigger selection I have to make a trip to Lubbock, which is about 45 minutes away. Not undoable-but expensive what with gas prices and being on a budget! lashayvz
  8. I'm a bit jealous. There are not Real Deals in Texas-at least not my part of Texas. I'm definately going to check out Dollar Tree, Everythings a Dollar and Dollar General, though! Thanks for the tip. lashayvz
  9. The bugs are adorable. I work in a rehabilitation home for abused children. If you don't mind, I would like to try making the bugs to decorate my groups activities room. Again, SO cute! lashayvz
  10. Hello, everyone. This is my first forum and I must say it is harder than I expected--like walking up to a stranger and introducing yourself. I've been reading around in here for a while and finally, I've taken the plunge. I've been crocheting off and on (mostly off) since I was 7 yrs old. In February of this year, I started trying to quit smoking (a terrifying 4 packs a day--gotta love corporate life), so I picked up an "I" hook and started making the first of 4 sweaters for my Chihuahuas, Lily and Lola (Loly). Now I'm not smoking, and so far removed from the corporate world it may as well have been on Mars, but I'm still crocheting, and loving it. I look forward to chatting with you all. I've seen some really neat things in this forum and look forward to the time I'm able to join in.
