  5. I realllllllyyyyyyy love this pattern and will be using this again soon!!! It is quick and easy. This is being sent to an online friend who was recently diagnosed with luekemia. A link to the pattern can be found in the picture captions. http://picasaweb.google.com/boogeebutt/PrayerShawls/photo#5234323258532894642 http://picasaweb.google.com/boogeebutt/PrayerShawls/photo#5234323253210241090
  6. I really like the first one on the lion brand site; simple and not obviously a "prayer shawl"
  7. There are things we could definitely use the prayer cloth pattern for; children especially. Let me run it by my pastor and let you know but I love the prayer cloth idea especially for first communions and confirmation shawls for the girls (this class only has 2 students-the boys). I haven't done filet before but am willing to try new things as I reach out in skills and faith.
  8. I thought about a strand of red and a strand of black, I also thought about Homespun b/c it works up quick but that could be pretty pricey. . .
  9. Got your thinking caps on???? My pastor approached me last week to ask if the shawl ministry group would be willing to make prayer shawls for two teen boys for confirmation. I said yes. These need to be done by the middle of October. I need a quick pattern and one that is not "holey", holy is OK though but the pastor did specify that he did not want these to be outwardly religious because he wants something the kids can take with them to college, etc. I suggested that stadium blankets or lap robes might be more appropriate but he said that would defeat the purpose of wrapping them in encouragement for their journey. Any suggestions for patterns suitable for men??? I considered alternating rows of sc and dcs, but am hoping for something a little less boring. Thanks for any help you can give!!!
  10. Ohhhhhhhhh this is beautiful!!!!! I so love your bags!!!!
  11. What a beautiful story!!! I too have given shawls out of the blue to persons I am called to; it is always an awesome moment to know how much it means to others to know they are cared for. Beautiful shawl!!!!
  12. that would be soooooo cool done up in purple for grapes and given to a wine lover!!!!
  13. This is incredible!!!! this is what I needed a few weeks ago when I taught a group of girls to crochet!!!!! I signed up!!!
  14. I actually like it better; using search terms gives me exactly what I'm looking for and it may just be me but seems the pics are better
  15. I'm thinking that 2nd one is the most similar but I am going to try them both; thanks for refreshing my memory about mypicot. That is a nice site.
  16. No Omaha NE LOL!!!! I will take a look at the links you posted. Thanks!! Ever fallen in love with an item and been on a quest for how to make it?? I'm like a woman possessed right now!!
  17. I looked on cpc to no avail so will try ravelry next. It would help with the search if I at least knew the name of the stitch combination; to me it kind of looks like a modified ripple (more of a wavy type pattern)
  18. She said someone made it for her a number of years ago
  19. A co-worker has been carrying this purse and I have fallen in love with it!!!! I desperately want to make this. http://picasaweb.google.com/boogeebutt/CrochetProjects/photo#5216010360157048898 http://picasaweb.google.com/boogeebutt/CrochetProjects/photo#5216010274623944658

  21. I only had one skein of the variegated yarn so I improvised and I am sooooooo happy with the result!!! http://picasaweb.google.com/boogeebutt/CrochetProjects/photo#5211184232479089138
  22. I am currently working on the offset shell shawl found here: http://crochet.about.com/od/clothingforwomen/a/offshellprshawl.htm I am using a J Hook, red Supersaver yarn and it is an easy pattern and looks gorgeous!!!!
  23. I am making this scarf with Life Style yarn, 100% Merino wool from Germany. I have a 50 gram ball of it which seems as though it is not going to be enough for a scarf of any great length. Any suggestions? This is souvenir yarn and I know I want a scarf out of it but the only other thought I had was perhaps Cupcake's fan bookmark pattern modified into a scarf but I still don't know what I will be able to do with 1 skein of this. Here is the pattern: http://suzies-yarnie-stuff.blogspot.com/2007/06/my-june-scarf-slant-stitch.html Here is a pic of what I've done so far: http://picasaweb.google.com/boogeebutt/CrochetProjects/photo#5207356243177500690
  24. The pattern can be found here: http://milobo.wordpress.com/2008/01/24/evas-shawl-pattern/
