  1. Thanks missmaxx and marikamum! Going to get these bookmarked right away! These snowflakes are so addicting!
  2. Marikamum, quick question. The 2009 and 2008 list links take you to the same page, which is the 2009 list. Do you have the correct link for the 2008 list-I've searched for a while and and can't seem to find it. Thanks!
  3. Here's the pic of my second completed Snowflake. It is a free pattern found here: http://gardeners-ramblings.blogspot.com/search/label/snowflake I think I'm addicted!
  4. Thanks for all the great comments on my first flake. I completed a second one! A different one which I like alot. Will post a pic later on. What are the steps to stiffen the flakes and how do I make sure that the flakes are stiffened with nice crisp edges? Do I use pins? What type?
  5. Said I was joining this crochet-a-long either last year or the year before, but felt completely overwhelmed by thread crochet. So I lurked and loved all the snowflakes I saw. I'm not very confident in my yarn crochet skills, although I can make scarves! So I decided to get over my fear of thread crochet by starting with Snowflakes. I started and completed my first Snowflake/thread crochet project ever! I used this free pattern that was listed in the 2008 crochet-a-long (i think) http://gardeners-ramblings.blogspot.com/2008/12/super-simple-crocheted-snowflake.html I must say, this was pretty easy to do, so I plan on making this one everyday this week (hopefully) to improve my skills. I used size 10 thread and a Susan bates 2.75mm hook. It was the smallest that my local Joann store carried. Can't wait to get the new hooks I ordered from the Joann's website! Comments and Criticism welcome. Thanks for such a great site!
  6. Awesome!! With all the links in one post, will be much easier to keep track. I bought some Cotton thread 10 and 30, and a couple of hooks. Boye hooks, which I'm not a fan of, but it was all that this little store I went ot had. Opionions needed please, Out of the patterns posted, which is the easiest? I've never worked with such a small hooy and thread before. So I want my first experience to be a good one! Keep up the great job with the snowflakes ladies!!
  7. Hi Everyone! Just read through all 17 pages of this thread and was wondering if it is too late to join in? I always wanted to do a Christmas Tree in Crocheted snowflakes. This Crochet -Along would be the kick in the butt I need to keep going. It might be a week or two before I can get thread and a small enough hook though and I never worked with thread before. Also a suggestion, I think it would be good to keep all the pattern links with their week # in one post. Would be much easier to find. By the way, All your snowflakes are beautiful!!! Take Care!
  8. I always liked the ones in your avatar pic Aelita! Did you use a pattern or make it up! I love them, they remind me of Nightmare Before Christmas for some reason! Returning the hijacked thread to the original poster.
  9. Those are great! You know she loves them, if she hasn't taken them off. Great color and awesome job mom! I'll have to knock up a pair for myself for work(for warmth!) and a pair for my niece(she's into the goth/punk stage and would probably like these alot).
  10. That is a great set. I love the hat! Great job!
  11. Great job on the skorts! They are adorable, as is Shaelynn! I love the color combos you used.
  12. Oh my! That is stunning! Great choice of colors, they work so well together. It reminds me of a flower! Beautiful!
