  1. I have 7 squares done. Can you send me your addy so that I can ship them out. I was going to make an afghan and send that but I am thinking that some of them might be a little too lacy to make a total afghan, but would look nice as an accent worked with other ones. My kids are starting to learn how to crochet. They like the reason that I am working on these squares so I might have some more coming your way soon.
  2. Have the last row that you work be a purl row. I am working in the opposite direction as you. I am working my ribbing first and then stockinette. And when I do this ribbing followed by a purl row the ribbing doesn't stand out as much. Did I explain that right?
  3. Try this. I am not sure if you are working a pattern after your ribbing or not, so this might not work. Last night I was working a 1x1 ribbing and did a purl row first and then a knit row. The ribbing was not raised and melted into the stockinette so beautifully that I had to share. Many try that...purling the next row. Of course, the bigger the ribbing, the harder it may be to get it to blend.
  4. I think that it is normal. You switching needle size is exactly what I would do to fix the problem (not that it means anything...lol).
  5. I love this pattern!! This is the first thing that I ever made for myself!! I am getting ready to make one for a friends' daughter out of pink mohair.

    Sock pattern?

I used this one and loved it. http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/SockClass_Start.htm If you want to use a circular needle goto the main page and it offers different ways. She broke it down so that anyone can understand. I highly recommend it.
  7. I hear ya. I have been admiring an afghan in the herrsheners catalog for a while now. It is a kit as well. But I can't bring myself to buy it...it would be a 'me' project. Maybe I will get it and call it my Mother's Day gift to myself...lol.
  8. The first meeting I was able to get to was last night. I can't tell you how happy I was to go. It was a ton of fun and the ladies there were great. They have 2 teachers in the class. I was having a problem and the one helped me work through it. I can't wait until next week to go again. I like knowing that there is a group so if I have any problems I have someone that can help.

I really like this. Where did you find the pattern for it?
  10. That is really cute as well. I keep on going back and forth in between a shrug and a shawl. I am not sure what I want to make with it.
  11. Those are beautiful!! Thanks for the idea.
  12. Thank you for the info and for asking about me. I am feeling a lot better. Not 100% yet but a lot better. I will let you know when I have one done so that I can get your info on where to send it to you.
  13. Croshay, I have been looking (and must be missing it) how big are the afghans you are making. I am using a different sort of block so I was thinking that I would just put them together for you. Since you are asking for 12" squares...are they 3 squares wide and 4 long? Or do you want them bigger? smaller? Just let me know. I hope to have one out to you soon.
  14. Thank you Sissie! I am just so proud of how well it went. THank you everyone for your help!!!!
  15. I was given a ton of Mohair yarn and I can't figure out what to make with it. So give me some suggestions. I would most likely make something for my girls with it because it is pink...which is not my color.
