  1. http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/jacob.html That's a link to a rectangular Jacob's Ladder. I do not know of any Jacob's Ladder pattern that starts from the middle.
  2. go here: http://attic24.typepad.com/ on the left side of her blog scroll down for patterns and tutorials. you'll find all sorts of Lucy goodies. However, if you're looking for a Lucille Ball pattern, then sorry, I can't help you.
  3. I believe my Afghan Collector's Series notebook is complete. There are ten categories containing 16 patterns each for a total of 160 patterns.
  4. I used the Tunisian simple stitch to make a pair of potholders and then I cross stitched a pineapple on each using the same kind of yarn. These potholders are well over 35 years old. Obviously at the time I did not know you cannot use yarn, but should use cotton for potholders. The potholders were given to my mom. I recently found them. No wonder they're still in good shape...they couldn't be used.
  5. Good job on the washcloths. May I ask what size they are? Thanks!
  6. This past Thursday I took Karen Whooly's Knooking class at the Knit and Crochet show. Wow, was she ever a huge help in knooking. Any videos I watched on knooking were never clear to me as to what to do with the cable. Now I know. And surprisingly enough the purl stitch is easier than the knit stitch for me. I can't figure that one out, but I like it.
  7. My husband and I are making the 2.5 hour drive from Connecticut to Manchester, NH Thursday morning, then leave Saturday evening. The classes I'm taking are KNOOKING Thursday afternoon, THE ELMORE METHOD Friday afternoon and TUNISIAN RIPPLE Saturday afternoon. I've done this conference once before and it's great!
  8. A few minutes ago I registered for a few classes and booked a room at the hotel. Any one else attending? oops...edited to add that the conference runs June 27th through July 1st. more info at http://www.knitandcrochetshow.com
  9. I have the same book and looking at the "Special Stitches" for the Pine Valley pattern, 5-fpdc cable means you do five front post double crochets around the SAME STITCH. I just crocheted a swatch of 5-fpdc in the same stitch and it looks very pretty 'cause the top of the 5 fpdcs "fan" naturally.
  10. Learn the purl stitch. When you start off using a few rows of purl, there is no curl. Using a larger hook will cut down on the curl too.
  11. I'm not quite sure, but I think Unger had booklets for knitting/crocheting. You might want to check vintage websites.
  12. Ahhh! My yarn arrived today! Now comes the hard part...waiting for the first clue.
  13. This is my first mystery afghan project and I can't wait to start. I ordered the Waverly yarn in Bark, Colonial Beige, Butter and Turtle Green, which should be arriving any day now. I'll use white from my stash as the main color.
  14. Does anyone have this book? If so, I'd appreciate hearing your opinion. Thanks!
  15. I first saw this maybe two years ago. Just as funny today.
  16. Are you referring to Kimberly's [wovenspun.com] alphabet pillows? I just tried the wovenspun. com site and the patterns are no longer listed. I have no idea if these patterns are still available. I tried various ways of googling the patterns, but no luck. I'm so sorry I couldn't be of any help.

  19. DebraKay, I think you got it. Spiral squares crocheted together in a Babette-type layout
  20. Teresa on YouTube has excellent crochet videos. Check out her video on the crocodile stitch here: http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/2011/02/how-to-make-crochet-crocodile-scale.html
  21. I just checked the Annie's Attic site and the book on the crocodile stitch is currently on back order. I think I'll save my money and just follow Theresa's excellent tutorial videos.
  22. The video and written instructions are here: http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/2011/07/andrews-keepsake-tunisian.html
  23. I'm a southpaw crocheter also. I suggest going to YouTube.com and search for TJW's videos. She's a wonderful instructor that produces videos for both left-and right-handed crocheters. Edited to add that someone already posted a link to TJW's videos, but it's certainly worth repeating.
  24. ....anyone else have trouble? I sign in correctly, even double-check my info...and nothing...indicates wrong password or user name. I even changed my password. Neither new nor old password works. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
