  1. Sorry If I'm posting in the wrong place. I am making an afghan for my nephew and 1 more skein would really finish it off. He is 15 years old and still has and loves the baby blankets I made for him. I have had this yarn for years but I didn't realize how many until I went looking for the yarn online. I can't find it anywhere.

    Turning chain

I like to chain then turn.
  3. I love granny squares but I really want one piece with no sewing. I was just looking at a ripple afghan from red heart but I'm not sure I have enough of the yarn. It was really a lapghan so I would need to make it bigger.
  4. I am looking for an easy afghan pattern. I have 1300+ yards or 24 oz. Of bernat camo that I would like to use. Every time I find an afghan I like on the internet the link is old or doesn't work.

    Art Deco Sunburst Shawl

It's lovely, thank you for the pattern.
  6. I haven't been able to get on the site for so long (bad internet, bad computer). I don't have a lot of time to crochet anymore. I have been knitting a baby blanket for over a year . If I had crocheted it I would have finished over a year ago . On September 2 of 2012 I gave birth to twin girls . We went from a family of 4 to a family of 6 overnight. I haven't had any time to crochet but I have had a little bit of time to see what everyone else is doing and get ideas on things to make for the girls when I have time hopefully soon. My fingers are itching.

    Chameleon character

I have kinda been MIA lately (about 2 yrs). But I have not stopped crocheting. Now this I am proud of because I did not use a pattern. I only crochet with patterns. But my niece saw a movie and fell in love with a chameleon. So i looked on the net for patterns:think. I couldn't find but 2 patterns. They just didn't look right to me. So i found some yarn I liked and sat down and I did it:cheer:yay. He is only about 4 inches tall, but I had to make him life like. And she loved him. She was hopping up and down she was so excited. I know the picture isn't very good, I'm trying to learn a new camera. There is nothing there to cause the shadow. It's either black photos or photos with a shadow.

Do you crochet in the summer heat?

Smaller and/or thread here. I live where it's hot and muggy most of the summer, and the yarn just doesn't slide over your fingers very well.
  10. I'm sorry to here about your hospital visit, those aren't fun. Is this something that could be brought on by stress? I'm sorry, I don't know anything about lupus.

As my mother always tells me "watch your portions, it's all about portion control". Which is good advice, but it doesn't help much when you are eating comfort food. Try cooking rice and beans. I know I have seen recipes on the net. That way you are getting protein too. And the beans will help feel you up, plus they are cheap. Do you measure? I have been eyeballing my food when I write it in my food diary. But I think I'm going to have to get out the scale and the measureing cups. You would think that after 4 days I would have lost something, but I have gained a pound. I don't know if it is depression or menopause... But every time I walk or exercise, I crochet one little square. And as soon as I have 836, I will crochet them together.

My first few days started out so good. I'm keeping a food diary, I weighed, I measured. No Junk food, only food from scratch, fruits, vegetables. I walk and worked in the garden and the yard(between all the rain). And then I noticed my scale, the battery was going dead. I have had inaccurate readings. And my measuring is so slight a difference that it could just be me holding the tape a little tighter. :eekAnd then last night as we were going for our walk I twisted my ankle on a rock, fell down and skinned my knee bad. I have barely moved today, every muscle and bone hurts from that fall. And my car is broke down. We're hoping the engine didn't go. I just keep thinking of that old comercial..Calgon take me away... At least my dog didn't run away.
