  1. Hello everyone. I'm almost finished with my very first sweater. I'm working on the sleeves. I don't understand what it is telling me to do. I think if I read it over and over again maybe I will understand it. Please help me. 6. Sleeves (make two): Beginning at the lower edge, chain 37 (37, 41, 41, 45, 45). Row 1 (right side): Single crochet in second chain from hook and in each chain across * 36 (36, 40, 40, 44, 44) stitches; turn. Row 2: Chain 1, single crochet in each single crochet across; turn. Rep Row 2 for 3 times more. Increase Row: Chain 1, working 2 single crochet in first and last stitch, single crochet in each stitch across * 38 (38, 42, 42, 46, 46) stitches; turn. Repeat Increase Row every 10th row 9 (0, 0, 0, 0, 0) times, every 8th row 0 (10, 11, 6, 6, 0) times, and every 6th row 0 (1, 0, 7, 7, 15) times. Work even on the 56 (60, 64, 68, 72, 76) stitches to approximately 18-1/2 (19, 19-1/2, 19-1/2, 19-1/2, 20)" from beginning. Fasten off. What is underlined and in black is what I don't understand. Can someone please tell me step by step what it is telling me to do. I appreciate any and all help.
  2. I just added you to my yahoo messenger l_lextremelyblessed. Sorry I have been out and busy...
  3. Do you have yahoo messenger? If so I can show you how to do it on the web cam. Sorry I don't think I would do a good job trying to explain it. Let me know
  4. Thank you, Thank you! Thank you! That helps a lot. I took everything apart and going to start over to make sure I do it right. I will be asking more question in the future about this pattern.
  5. BACK Ch 58 (62, 64, 68). Row 1 (RS) Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch to end-56 (60, 62, 66) sts. Turn on this and all foll rows. Row 2 Ch 1, sc in each st to end. Row 3 Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in each st to end. Rep rows 2 and 3 for pat st 3 times more. Row 10 (WS): Dec row Ch 1, skip first st, sc to last 2 sts, skip next st, sc in top of t-ch. Row 11 Rep row 3. Row 12 Rep row 10-52 (56, 58, 62) sts. Work even in pat for 7 more rows. Row 20 (WS): Inc row Work 2 sc in first st, work to last 2 sts, work 2 sc in next st, sc in top of t-ch. Work 3 rows even. Row 24 Rep row 20-56 (60, 62, 66) sts. Work even in pat st until there are 32 (32, 34, 34) rows from beg. So am I doing Rows 1 through 3 until I have completed Row 9?
  6. Ch 30 (32, 34, 36). Work in pat st on 28 (30, 32, 34) sts as for back for 9 rows. I don't understand what this is telling me to do. It doesn't tell me what st to do. I have done sc,dc, and hdc. which one do I do? Please help
  7. So does that mean I need to take out the work I did? I did not sl st in all the 4 st, only in the 4st. That makes me sad but I will do it because I want this sweater to come out good. I want to be proud of the first sweater I make.

    Help ?

Hi, I don't know what to do. Armhole shaping Row 1 (RS) Do not ch, sl st in first 4 (5, 4, 5) sts, hdc in next st, dc to last 5 (6, 5, 6) sts, hdc in next st, leave rem 4 (5, 4, 5) sts unworked. Row 2 (WS) Ch 1, skip first st, sc to last st, leave this st unworked-46 (48, 52, 54) sts. Work even in pat until there are 20 (20, 22, 22) rows and armhole measures 71/4 (71/4, 8, 8)"/18.5 (18.5, 20.5, 20.5)cm. Shoulder and neck shaping Row 1 (RS) Do not ch, sl st across first 4 (4, 5, 5) sts, sc in next st, hdc in next st, 1 dc in each of next 7 (8, 8, 9) sts, fasten off for shoulder. Skip center 20 (20, 22, 22) sts for neck, rejoin yarn in next st and ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in next 6 (7, 7, 8) sts, hdc in next st, sc in next st, leave rem sts unworked and fasten off. On the armhole shaping it says to sl st in first 4 On the Shoulder and neck shaping it says to sl st across first 4 When I did the armhole shaping I sl st in the 4 st. Did I do that wrong? It looks ok but after reading the shoulder and neck shaping I'm not sure anymore. Do I sl st in all 4 st? Please help:think
  9. I'm sorry...I have anoter question. I'm working on row 24: Rep row 20(56) Work even in patteern until there are 32 rows from beggining. Are they saying 32 rows from the beg of row 24 or from the beg of the very first row 1?
  10. Thank you! I will try to remember that.
  11. I'm sorry, Please forgive me I was on the phone when I typed it. My question is this. What does it mean to work even in pattern for 7 more rows? (Rep row 10(52) work in even pattern for 7 more rows) Does that mean rep row 10 7 more times?
  12. I'm working on my first sweater and I think I'm doing ok. I'm stuck on something. I think I know what to do but I want to be sure. I'm on row 12 here are rows 10 and 11 Row 10 (WS):Dec row ch1, skip first st. Sc to last 2sts. skip next st. sc in top of t-ch Row 11 Rep Row3 Row 12 Rep row 10 (52) work even in pat for 7 more rows
  13. Grammie I know that you will do great on your sweater. That's great that you made a baby sweater. I will keep you all posted on my progress. I LOVE THIS SITE!!
  14. Thank you. I got a bunch of yarn for Christmas. Of course it's all different colors so I will have to go and buy more since I'm making a sweater. All my yarn is Red Heart Super saver worsted-medium.(Is that good yarn?)
