  1. Bubbles baby blanket is always my go to pattern when I need to work up a baby blanket quick.
  2. Very Pretty!! Love the color combination:)
  3. I have some that you could have. I've recently started a new position at work and I don't have nearly the same amount of time to crochet as I used to. I'd rather see it go to someone who would really use it that it just sit in my apartment not being used. I have approx 9.5-10 skeins of the dark brown color. Let me know if you would like it.
  4. I can't wait to buy the pattern and make it!
  5. I'm on Facebook:) And now I'm gonna go join the Crochetville group!
  6. Welcome from Illinois! So very nice to meet you. I visted Ireland a couple of years ago and fell in love with the country:) I can't wait to get back!
  7. I have a copy I can send, no charge. If you send me your address I can send it off to you. Please let me know if you still want it:)
  8. I agree that it was probably due to lack of submissions. My major beef wasn't with the original designs that are not things I would usually enjoy making. I too expect that I will not like everything. Part of the fun of what you got was to see what regular people designers would come up with. I didn't get the 2008 calendar but did purchase the 2007 one. I don't remember a single major yarn company pattern in there (but could be wrong). I didn't like every pattern in there but I sure appreciated everyone's talent and contribution and really enjoyed looking over everyone's designs. I just feel cheated that I received a gift (but would have purchased if I didn't get it) where several of the patterns are available for free. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. I was so disappointed when I started looking through the calendar.
  9. I received mine as a Christmas present and I was absolutely disgusted with it! As Kelley stated (and I recognized right away) most of the patterns are available online for free! I feel ripped off and will probably not purchase this calendar again. What a shame!
  10. We are not wealthy by any means. This said, I'm the also the so called breadwinner in the family. I always buy what I want but I also keep in mind what bills are coming up, etc. I always show my DH what I have bought and don't hide any of it. His response has always been, "That's great honey! I know how hard you work and you deserve to treat yourself." I totally understand where the original comment came from. If you contribute to the family income you should be able to purchase something for yourself without "asking." But, I also understand the concept of a true partnership where both people ask about making additional "fun" purchases.
  11. I have only been truly insulted once. I was crocheting at my in-law's house one day and my MIL's SIL made some comment about old ladies and knitting. My eyes about popped out of my head. I looked at my husband and he just looked back at me as if to say, "please don't say anything." I'm not old nor was I knitting at the time. Other than that everyone around me is usually pretty envious of my skill. My DH totally supports my yarn addiction. My mom & dad love it because my grandmother (who passed away 2 years ago) crocheted and she taught me. My MIL doesn't understand it but thinks its cool. And, my SIL wants to learn.
