  3. My SIL's youngest granddaughter is having a baby. The theme is Llama's or Alpaca. I made a blanket and a stuffy for her. The blanket is 3 by 2 panels. Each panel is 13 1/2 by 14 inches, that is 70 stitches by 80 rows. With the edging the blanket comes out to be 28 by 43 1/2. The stuffy is 12 inches from the toes to the top of the ears. Each panel can be an afghan in itself, if you use c2c instead of single crochet.

  4. For a new year my aunt gave me this beautiful forest decoration. Wood and cones are from her garden. First there were only an owl and a squirrel. My aunt told me there was also a deer in the pattern but she didn't made one. SO we had some talking... ๐Ÿ˜ and now deer lives in my "forest" too ๐ŸฆŒ

  9. Except for the initials I'm going to add, I've finished the blanket for my goddaughter and her fiance. It's 60 inches across and the main color is Bernat teal blue...which doesn't photograph well of course. I stood on a chair to try and get a decent shot.

  12. Here is the one I finished. I need to wash it and ship it off. The young lady who it is getting this is very sick and is back in the hospital. I donโ€™t even know if sheโ€™ll be able to or want to hold it when she makes it back home. I just needed to do this.

  13. I had a friend ask me to make 3 blankets for some babies. The first was green and cream. the second was to try a lumber jack plaid. The third will be squares of c2c with animal faces, one per square. All these will be sufari animals. Here are the first two I made.

  15. My GD's dog won the Cutest Dog contest at the local fro-yo shop out of 50 dogs entered. They offer puppy frozen yogurt (non-dairy) and she loves it. This is just one of her photos used in the contest with the scarf I made her and her pose when she's told to "be cute".

  18. Here are a few new hats I crocheted recently for Warmth for Warriors. I used a new method on the brim of crocheting all FPDC. The pattern and details can be found here if anyone wants to make the hat. Works up quickly and the new brim tightens up nicely for a good fit.

  19. I'm working on lucky clovers for my students. They are in the last grade and in May they are having their final exams. It's a tradition that they get the clovers before the exam. Usually the teachers just buy the pins, but if the teachers crochet?... I found 4 and the bookmark in my stash.

  25. I have a niece who's daughter is getting married this year. I was wondering what to get her, as they have been in their house for about a year. So I thought I would make an afghan. Now as to colors, I was told muted browns and such. No yellow or red or blue or whatever. So I found this free graph on FB and made it with the modification of the background. Instead of a gold, it is Lt. Taupe. It is made with I love this yarn and the pattern in here (1) Free Graphghan Graph Charts patterns | Facebook They have lots of patterns. The picture was taken on my Queen Size bed.

  26. I liked this pattern immediately I saw it in the magazine ("Die Masche" #30). There a white size 10 thread and a 1,25mm Hook was recommended and the doily would come to 100 cm (39,3 inch) in diameters. As usual I have used the Gรผtermann C Ne 50 sewing thread and a 0,35mm TULIP hook. My light blue doily has 38cm (15 inch) in diameters.

  28. I was inspired for this by a 16 point RR I saw on FB. Mine is a 12 point and took about 3.5 ounces each of 12 colors. I didn't measure it before I gave it away but it covers a love seat! So many color combinations going through my head right now!!

  29. Hi all... just wanted to post something that I learned today. My friend sent me an email saying that the church to which I donated all those bags of yarn have already made 17 lapghans to give away. It just made my heart smile to know that the yarn I could not use was being of good use to others. here is the yarn I donated - about 15 bags worth: just a note - the WM bag with blankies went to the Humane society for the dogs and cats to enjoy.

  30. I was asked to make scarves for my 3 nieces and when I was choosing colors, OF COURSE my daughter chose for hers ๐Ÿ™‚ because she wants one, too. I started working on the first scarf. I'm glad they are smaller than the adult ones. But while I was working on the scarf, I found a pattern for gingerbread dolls and I just HAD TO "bake" some gingerbread for Christmas 2021 The pattern is free (knitting) https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mini-gingerbread-friends

  32. Mona there are so many online to look at but I wasnt sure how safe and practical all the extras were on them. Plus they need to be something that holds up to being laundered. They emailed me a photo of one they got somewhere. It was knitted. You really need input about what the caregivers feel is safe for each individual resident. I did research and these were the first two I made. After looking at these she wanted them smaller around as she wanted them to stay on their forearm. These fit my chunky arm. She thought the beads might be risky for some. She really liked the colors

  33. Recently had the pleasure to test a new design by Grace Fearon called Georgia. I used LizBeth #20 thread with a 1.10mm hook. The finished size is 18 inches. She has the pattern available for purchase on her site, gracefearon.com

  34. I forgot to take a pic of the cat toys I made for my GS's 2 kittens so he took one for me. The mice were easy and quick to make. I chose not to put eyes on the grey mouse since the other 2 wound up looking like zombie mice. LOL. The blue toy is made with a piece cut from a paper towel tube, then stuffed. It has a tail on the other side with a small bell on the end. I closed both ends of the toy since I wanted to stuff it to keep it's shape. Patterns: Mouse, Blue Toy

  35. Mona I don't envy you that yard work. We've recently changed landscapers and the new ones are very reliable...important since neither of us can do much outside. And I was fortunate that hubby had come with me and was in the car in the parking lot! Here are 2 newborn sets I made from scraps. Pale yellow color and others don't show up too well in the bright sun.

  36. I finished the praying hands throw....hubby chose the colors and asked for the cross to be added to it... Placing it on the floor gave me plenty of distance to show off the pattern.

  39. I just wanted to share this... I got a new (blood sugar) test kit today and the case that came with it is just about useless so I made myself a pretty new one. Now I can even store my little tissue bits with my other supplies and of course every girl needs some bling case that came with: my new pretty one.

  42. I totally love this technique for making a wreath with the cheap vinyl tablecloths. I have the 'cloths' to make a circle one in 4 different colours/patterns but I saw this gingham and wanted to try it. I recommend the "Sissy can do it" version on You Tube - I find her easy to follow and she is so down home. I do 'see' the gingham in this - no , really
